Charles "Charley" Palfrey

(1900-1916)


Private 1407, Welsh Guards, Prince of Wales Company.

Died 19th February 1916, aged 24, in hospital, buried in Cathays Cemetery EH 2025.

Born Cardiff 1891, brought up at 50 Saltmead Road and later 65 Allerton Street; he was a miller's labourer at Spillers and Baker, like his father before the war. He was married to Theresa and they lived at 59 Stoughton Street. He died of injuries suffered at the Battle of Loos at Epsom Military Hospital.
