John Howell Hosgood (1860-1910)


Born Cardiff in October 1860; died Cardiff 28 January 1910. Chief draughtsman to the Taff Vale Railway, then appointed Locomotive and Hydraulic Engineer to the Barry Docks and Railway Company, a position which he filled for over 18 years, during which time he designed locomotives and rolling-stock for the railway, laid out pumping-stations and plant, hydraulic coal-tips and other works.
