DEATH OF MR. JOHN STIBBS, OF CARDIFF.
Among our obituary notices of to-day (Saturday) we regret to find the name of Mr. John Stibbs, the highly-respected secretary of the Cardiff Gas-Light and Coke Company, which took place at his residence, No. 9, Pembroke-terrace, Cardiff, on Friday morning, after a comparatively short illness. The deceased gentleman, who was & native of Cardiff, had been in the service of the Gas Company for a very long period entering their service at the commencement of his commercial career, and by his perseverance and the business aptitude he displayed he rose step by step to the responsible position he held at the time of his death. His uniform urbanity endeared him to a very large circle of acquaintances, who will in him lose a genial and kind-hearted friend. He was also held in high esteem by the employees of his firm, and a short time ago, on the occasion of the celebration of his. silver wedding, they presented him with a magnificent testimonial as a token of their appreciation of his worth. He leaves behind him a widow and a very large family, for whom great sympathy is manifested
